Tinker Bell is the first of the Disney Fairies movies and was released to DVD in 2008. The animated film is based a fairy called Tinker Bell in J.M. Barrie’s orginal play of Peter Pan. Tinker Bell

“Have you ever wondered how nature gets it’s glow?… It’s all the work of fairies.”

It begins when Tinker Bell is born. With the laugh of a baby, the life of Tinker Bell takes flight. Tink arrives at Pixie Hollow where she finds that her talent is tinkering.

Tinker fairies Clank and Bobble welcome Tinker Bell. It’s almost time for the changing of the seasons and fairies of every talent are preparing for springtime. Tink is shown her home and tries on her clothes that Clank and Bobble have prepared for her. Too large for her tiny frame, she makes some adjustments.

The tinker fairies are busy in the workshop. Clank and Bobble are arguing about the size of the twig axle when Tinker Bell arrives in her beautiful new fitting attire. Fairy Mary, another Tink fairy is introduced to Tinker Bell.

Tink joins Clank and Bobble to make their deliveries and head off in the cart with Cheese, a mouse that pulls the cart. Soon they are startled by sprinting thistles and the cart crashes. Nature talent fairies, Rosetta, Silvermist, Iridessa and Fawn discover the crashed cart and come to their rescue and meet Tinker Bell. Rosetta is a garden fairy, Silvermist is a water fairy, Iridessa is a light fairy and Fawn is an animal fairy.

Bobble gives Iridessa her rainbow tubes and Silvermist helps her to capture to rainbow spraying water into the air. Both Iridessa and Silvermist explain that they will take the rainbow tubes to the mainland to change Winter to Spring, amazing Tinker Bell at the thought of visiting the mainland.

Tink, Clank and Bobble move on, but Tink soon spots Vidia, a fast flying fairy, who is working on her talent and joins her. Vidia challenges Tinker Bell to prove that her talent is just as valuable as Vidia’s when she visits the mainland. Tinker Bell flys away, when she suddenly discovered some objects shining below her and gathers them and takes them back to the workshop.

Clank and Bobble take a look at her treasures and explain that they are things that have washed up on the shores of Neverland from the mainland. Fairy Mary seeing them, takes the lost things and tells them all to get ready for the Queen’s review, where the Queen will review all the preparations that have been made for Spring. Tinker Bell realises that it’s the perfect time to show the Queen what Tinkers can do and begins work in the workshop.

All the fairies are busy preparing for the Queen’s review. Queen Clarion arrives and address the fairies, when suddenly Tinker Bell arrives and interupts. Unaware that Tinker fairies don’t go to the mainland, Tink explains that she’s come up with inventions she can use in the mainland and demonstrates them. Queen Clarion reveals to Tink that Tinker fairies work is here in Pixie Hollow and they don’t go to the mainland and that the nature talent fairies do all of those things. Visibly disappointed, Tink returns to the workshop.

Fairy Mary finds Tink in the workshop and tells her that she should be proud to be a Tinker fairy an the day that she can make the flowers grow or capture the rays of the sun is when she can go to the mainland, but until then, her work is here in Pixie Hollow, but suddenly Tink discovers something.

The nature fairies are getting sprinkled with pixie dust when Tinker Bell suddenly arrives and proclaims that she doesn’t have to be a Tinker fairy and can switch talent and wants the nature fairies to teach her their talent, so she can go to the mainland too. Hesitatingly the nature fairies agree to help Tink. Silvermist takes her to learn how to make dewdrops on spider webs, but Tink just can’t do it.

Back in the workshop, Clank and Bobbles are working, but Tink hasn’t even started her work. Fairy Mary arrives and cover for Tinks absence.

In the meadow, Iridessa attempts to teach Tinker Bell to capture light and cover bugs with light, but Tinker Bell just can’t do it either.

At the workshop, Clank and Bobbles are working enthusiastically, while Tinker Bell is struggling to complete her work. Fairy Mark interrupts her and announces that she knows what she’s been doing and is clearly disappointed in her.

Tink leaves and meets with Fawn in an attempt to learn her talent and will teach baby birds how to fly. Tinker Bells attempt to get a let bird to fly, alerts her to a bird flying high above, which she thinks might help her endevours. The bird, however is a hawk, which starts to fly after Tink. Tink escapes in a tree where she finds Vidia and the hawk threatens them both, when suddenly the fairies come to their aid and ward off the hawk.

Out in the rain forest, Tink finds a broken music box and begins work to fix it. Unknown to Tinker Bell, the nature fairies arrive to watch her as she works. They tell her that her talent really is tinkering, but all Tink wants is to go to the mainland.

With her nature fairy friends unwilling to teach Tink their talents, Tink visits Vidia and asks if she’ll teach her to be a fast flying fairy. Vidia suggests that she try be a garden fairy and try to capture the sprinting thistles. Tink tries to capture the sprinting thistles with Cheese, but the thistles stampede out of control and ruin all the preparations for spring.

Queen Clarion arrives and Tinker Bell explains that it’s her fault that all the preparations for Spring are ruined and she’s sorry. Queen Clarion, the Minister for Spring and other ministers discuss the sitation. Fairy Mary arrives and Queen Clarion asks if it’s possible to redo everything in such a short time, but she answers that it can’t be done.

At the pixie dust refill, Tink sees Terence who is suprised she knows his name. Terence declares that he is only a pixie dust keeper and not exactly the most important fairy in Pixie Hollow. Tink tells him that he is probably the most important fairy as nobody would have any magic without him. She says that Terrence should be proud of it and Terence announces that he is. Suddenly Tink realizes the truth in her words.

“Your talent makes you who you are.”

Tink is sitting in the workshop with Cheese when suddenly she is captured by the lost things Fairy Mary confiscated after she found on the shores of Neverland. Taking them, she realizes what she must do.

Queen Clarion addresses the fairies and announces that there is no way that Spring can come on time and it will take months to restore all the work. She says that when the ever blossom opens for Spring tomorrow, the fairies will not be going to the mainland for Spring.

Tinker Bell suddenly interupts and hesitately Queen Clarion allows her to speak. Tink shows them a lady bug painting device she has made that will speed up painting and produces plans to get Spring back on track. Vidia interupts and on arguing with Tink reveals to everyone that she gave Tink the idea to capture the thistles. Queen Clarion realises that Tink is not the only fairy to blame for ruining Spring and instructs Vidia to chase down all the thistles and return them to Needle Point Meadow. The Queen asks Tinker Bell if she’s sure she can help fix Spring, to which she replies, “Yes, because I’m a Tinker. It’s who I am. And Tinkers fix things.”

With the help of the fairies Tink gets to work making devices to help them restore all the preparations for Spring. Amazingly all their efforts are successful. Queen Clarion announces that Tinker Bell has saved Spring. The fairies suggest that Tink should also go to the mainland, but Tink says that she doesn’t need to go, her work is here in Neverland.

Clank and Bobble arrive and bring the music box Tink fixed and Fairy Mary announces that Tink must go to the mainland to return the musical box to it’s owner. Terence gives Tink some extra pixie dust to help her on her way to the mainland.

Tink and the fairies set off to the mainland. Together they turn Winter into Spring. The snow melts away and blossoms bloom, bringing Springs wonder to the mainland.

Tink takes the pixie dust that Terence gave her and sprinkles it on the music box and Tinker Bell returns it to it’s owner. She knocks on the window and the little girl sees the music box and immediately inserts the key to start playing it. It’s only fitting that we discover the girl’s name is Wendy.
