Scoop, Roley and Dizzy agree that Wendy should have a oliday and Bob should too. Scoop suggests that if Bob and Wendy can’t have a holiday, then they should bring the holiday to them. They could put some sand down in the yard and make it look like a beach and do some dancing when they finish work today. Jenny, Dizzy, Muck and Roley agree and volunteer to be dancers. Scoop asks what he could be and Jenny suggests the Disco Digger Scoop and thy show Scoop how to disco dance.
Bob and Wendy return from the office and amongst all the excitement Bob asks what is going on. They all reply, it’s nothing.
Bob says that Mr Bentley has just phoned to say that some old water pipes have just cracked and Wendy says that they must replace them right away because water is leaking out. Bob indicates that it’s a big job for Scoop, and Dizzy wants to come along too.
On the job, Bob and Wendy explain that they have to drain all the water and close off the road, but they can’t close the road for long. Bob asks Scoop to go over to JJ’s right away to pick up the new pipes and connectors. Dizzy accompanies Scoop to JJ’s.
On the way to JJ’s, Dizzy gives Scoop a disco dancing lesson, but Scoop is having trouble getting the steps right.
Back on the job, Bob and Wendy are wondering why Scoop is taking so long, so Bob phones JJ to see if Scoop’s arrived at the yard, but he hasn’t.
At JJ’s Scoop and Dizzy arrive and JJ explains that Bob has phoned twice looking for him. Scoop realises that he’s wasted time dancing and forgot about the building job. Scoop takes the supplies and Dizzy returns to the yard to practice her dance steps.
Back at the yard Dizzy meets Jenny and the machines who are planning to change Bob’s yard into a tropical beach. They bring in sand, plam trees, beach furniture and a pool. When they’ve finished with the yard, Jenny, Roley, Dizzy, Muck and Lofty practice their disco dancing before Bob and Wendy return.
On the Job, Scoop arrives with the supplies and Bob asks what took him so long. Scoop replies that he was talking to Dizzy and Dizzy has returned to the yard. Scoop starts to dig the trench to replace the pipes. While Wendy measures the depth of the trench, Scoop goes off to practice his dancing and Bob follows and Scoop explains he was stretching.
In the yard, they’re all still practicing dancing, but Jenny announces that she has to go back to Wendy’s to pick up some things for tonight. So Dizzy, Lofty and Muck continue practicing.
On the Job, Jenny meets Bob, Wendy and Scoop. Scoop explains to Jenny that he’s been practising all day and just can’t dance, but Jenny says that he’s the best disco dancer she’s ever seen. She tells him to dance for Bob and Wendy as if he’s digging a trench. Scoop fills in the trench and the job is complete, so they all make their way back to the yard.
Bob and Wendy arrive back to the yard and are suprised to find the yard transformed into a beach. Scoop explains that because they’re too busy to go away on holiday, they’ve brought the holiday to them.
Jenny announces that the star of night is Scoop the Disco Digger. Scoop is worried that he can’t dance, but Jenny tells him to be himself and Dig it!
